Jesus frequently spoke in paradoxes and invited His listeners to compare one way of life with another and draw their own conclusions. Here in our over-developed Western life we seem to automatically look for formulas and search for black and white answers to life’s questions. Yet many other cultures seem better able to naturally embrace two seemingly opposite or conflicting viewpoints and not see them as contradictory. This thinking is like the two pedals of a bike; one pedal pushes down and the other pedal follows, with both pedals needed for movement.
As we push on in following Jesus and we study and listen to messages, there are so many seemingly opposing or contradicting truths that were always designed to be held together. One truth without the other brings lack of balance. As we allow the fusion of truths to be held together there is a power surge of revelation and faith.
This book is an attempt to outline and explore some of these tensions in order to stimulate discussion and further study. It covers a range of topics and will undoubtedly prove to be a highly useable and helpful resource that brings revelation and wisdom to those reading it.
